It was 1959 when he entered five motorcycles into the Isle of Man TT race, the world’s most prestigious motorcycle race that time. In 1961, Honda made Mike Hailwood, one of the world’s greatest racers, claim their first Gran Prix victory. In 1973, Soichiro Honda retired from Honda motors but the company continued to make world-class automobiles and the finest motorcycles.
